After deciding on my final deconstructed Helvetica A from the project posted previously, I used the same techniques to create the P, L and Y you see here. 

I created a stencil of each Helvetica type letter and traced lines with two different size markers.  I did this multiple times and edited lines in and out until I came to these final letters.  From there I scanned each of the letters into Adobe Illustrator and traced over each line with the pen tool to create clean lines with two line sizes to match the original marker.

After making each individual letter I imported them all from Adobe Illustrator to Adobe InDesign. I played around with moving each letter around to see how I could make them fit together in the best way with the least amount of awkward open white space but keeping them open and light to stay in line with the design.
